Interesting show on Nightline this evening-------

I'm inclined toward breaking up the applications and the operating system. The analogy that I use is that it's like one car company(applications=models)owning all the steel(operating system) then dictating the price and amount of steel that must be used by each company. Moreover, other car makers have to show their designs to MSFT in order get specs. on the steel they are buying and they are told how much aluminum, plastic, etc.(java, samba, whatever) they are allowed to use.
I don't give a damn how much money Bill has or gets the Apps. and the OS should be separated. Hell, he'll probably make more money off the breakup. More power to him, but everything under one roof just smells of rot.

Just the ramblings of a simple firefighter.

Best of luck to all,
George
