Andy, I can't believe that a progressive
person as yourself would suggest that there
is such a compelling need for the 1.44 floppy.
You truly must know better.

The software drivers that are continually sighted as
reasons for justifying a 1.44 floppy are coming on cd
disks and have been for some time now.
Today's manufacturers not only have drivers on their
cd's but they often include instruction manuals and a
short video clip about the company.

" It is possible even if HiFD success because there are already
18 million Zip users out there."

The answer is no it's not possible for HiFD success because
there will already be 23 to 28 million Zip users before OEM's
would even entertain HiFD drives in their systems. ; )

IMO
