It is only fair to point out that a Rambus controller does not guarentee Rambus memory sales right away. Intel for one has developed an interface to SDRAM from a Rambus controller, essentially they perform the Rambus interface for a whole bank of SDRAM. This allows the processor chipset to be built for Rambus but they can still offer a low cost solution with SDRAM. This will likely be a short term transition product until Rambus is cheaper and widely available. I don't know if a system designed this way could be upgraded to use Rambus memory modules after purchase.
