John, you are correct...
Shiva is a SNAP to install. It supports all the major protocols:
IPX/SPX - Novell Netware users NETBeui - WIN NT, WFW, WIN95, etc. users 802.2 LLC - For the AS400, IBM (eech) users AppleTalk - For the MAC people TCP/IP - For the NORMAL people
However, the Shiva front end with respect to the SNM (Shiva Network Manager) needs work ... It doesn't even compare to XcelleNet. I think this is why Shiva worked out a deal with XcelleNet to use the Xcellenet front end.
Also, some boxes are unreliable ... We have had at least 4 boxes go down in less than 1 year... When the Lanrovers are working, it's the best thing in the world.
We compared it against the MOTOROLA bit-runner and it left the bit-runner in the dust.
My only question is, will the stock keep going up? I told a friend to buy this stock back when it was in the 20s and he is a happy camper now. |
