PR Newswire, Tuesday, October 20, 1998 at 08:53

LONDON, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Alcatel (NYSE:ALA) and NICE Systems Ltd.
(NASDAQ:NICEY) announced today that they have agreed to sign a global
cooperation and distribution agreement under which Alcatel will market and
distribute NICE's voice recording solutions for call centers.
The agreement includes the integration and distribution of NICE's flagship

NiceUniverse(TM), designed to automate call monitoring, provide objective
evaluation tools and identify training requirements for call center agents.
NICE's products are already integrated with the Computer Telephony

recording. It is a strategic tool to track and improve the quality of the
interaction with their customers. This is why we selected NICE's advanced
product range to complement our portfolio -- to further fulfill our
customers' expectations for advanced total call center solutions."
Benny Levin, Chairman and CEO of NICE Systems Ltd, said: "We are very
