"The bad news is Clinton won; the good news is Kemp lost."

I think the election served to remove the blinders some folks had been wearing regarding Jack Kemp. Californians got his number, and Wm Bennett's too, for that matter, when those two Bleeding Hearts of Empower America flew out here to encourage opposition to Prop 187 a few years ago. What part of "illegal" don't they get? And how can they promote the open-ended taxing of the electorate for the benefit of whoever wants to overstay a visa or merely walk across the border? The tab in California is running at almost 1 Billion dollars a year for education alone. But enough of that. I guess only Californians think their hospitality is being abused.

What might be more interesting to ponder is the Democrats who will challenge Gore in 2000. Gore may get tarnished by some of the fallout from Lippo et al. The likliest contenders will come from the "unemployed": Bill Bradley, Sam Nunn, Mario Cuomo. Any speculations?
