Dale, I think you are right abuot CPU being the lone survivor or the Walmart of PC retailers. But, current valuation for the stock is absurd - i.e. for a retailer. We have known them before - once Street darling Best Buy, recently Baby Superstore. When PC growth is at historic lows (about 15-17% up to 3rd Q) how can both directo vendors and retail outlets make merry at the same time? In retrospect things always look so obvious.
Given the expectations, I think the fair vale for CPU is about $12. Just as when it wouldn't stop at the fair value on the way up, it won't stop there on the way down. If I were to go long on CPU, it would be below $10. If it doesn't get there, I will try to find other investments. Just my opinion!
The introduction of MMX and the possible hype around it does infact affect my closing decision on CPU puts. But, I am hoping that CPU gets below 15 by tomorrow!
Regards.
