Bearshark, re:Between 3:30 PM and 3:45 PM, there was a net change of 187 million shares from positive to negative on the NASDAQ with barely a ripple in the advances and declines. The advances and declines at 3:30 were 2,687 and 1,486 respectively while the advances and declines at 3:45 were 2,624 and 1,555 respectively. However, at 3:30 the advancing and declining volume was 569.3 and 361 million shares respectively while at 3:45 the advancing and declining volume was 486.0 and 464.2 million shares respectively. It is fascinating to watch brute force managed so delicately through the markets.

Indeed!! Yet, the force and direction remain masked, forcing us to consider that it might be arbitrary.
