The Egans regularly sell portions of their huge share in EMC. Often the price has gone up so much in the next few months that they seem to have sold at a loss. With so many shares and so much money it probably makes little difference to the Egans. Its is wise to diversify. I do not believe that the management has anything to gain by another split as EMC has become a true " blue chip". The growth alone is adequate to support the price and nothing will be gained by making it a $30 stock. Hold on until 2001 and there should be an appreciation of about 2 or 3 times current value. Its the best investment in the world.
