<Query Tone is the ability to ask any question at anytime from anywhere.>

And here I thought it was just the name of Saylor's new band, The Query Tones!

Gee, lets go ask far ranging questions of very large databases from anywhere at anytime and see what kind of back end performance we get. Better yet, lets allow a whole bunch of folks to do that at the same time. Let's see those servers grovel, especially the SQL Server on NT databases. Let's pound 'em with questions from anywhere at any time, over and over and over. Until you get tired of your Web Browser crashing from you trying to hit the stop button and reexecute the query over and over, finally giving up and backing out.

Same old crap that Saylor and his company HAVE BEEN UP TO SINCE DAY ONE. This stuff doesn't perform. It has gone from being a Windows Icon that didn't perform, to a Web enabled piece of code that won't perform. The folks who buy this stuff and the consulting engagement that comes with it are in for a shock. It isn't a product. It is a consulting engagement to come in and try to build a browseable database that can answer a limited set of reasonably well defined queries which will perform. The rest will not.

To build applications that people can use that deliver good response time when processing anything resembling a generalized query takes a lot more than a Query Tone. What a joke, but that is what MSTR has been from the start.

And the name sucks too... Query Tone. Go back to the drawing board MSTR marketing. You ain't Ma Bell and this ain't no stinkin' dial tone.
