Actually no it shouldn't. It proves that their products are perceived to be a value and sell very well in a free market. Certainly including IE in their OS did not add one penny to the bottom line but rather created value in the mind of the consumer. So much so that even in economically down trodden Japan Windows 98 was bought at a record rate No one is forcing the fools of this world who embrace Windows to buy it instead of a Mac ( I am a Mac owner) or some other OS for that matter ie Unix,Linux etc.

Standard Oil was broken up because it was not to the consumers benefit to allow the natural monopoly to live as it was then structured. In MSFT's case it is the competition who claim being injured not the consumer Therefoer it is a totally different circumstance.

Standard had no competition - obviously MSFT has plenty unless NSCP, Novell, AOL et al are testifying against MSFT on behalf of the people of the US.

This whole thing is a pitiful joke. The DOJ can't even kitigate their own case. They spend additional taxpayers's dollars to hire someone from outside the gov't. to be the trial lawyer. I don't hear the liberals screaming about this waste of money - don't they like our Bill.
