Thats what people keep telling me. Let me ask you a question - how old are you? I believe the old democratic party was that way sure. But that was, oh, pre-1985 Id say. Yep there was once affirmative action laws etc which were similar in some ways to the republican anti-choice platform today. This was where, some guy in congress decided based on his views that something was right or wrong and legislated it. Yes once the dems were that way. But no more, now, the Republicans have stepped up to bat on that. And, the really scary thing is, the republicans use the Bible as some sort of validation of their concepts - no matter that most people dont read the Bible. Can gays get married? NOPE the Bible says NO! Family Values whats that about - the Bible of course! How about prayer in school for those Bible thumpers in the south! To top off the Bible zealots we have Mr. Ken Starr, voyeur extrodinaire, who based on the Bible has concluded that Bill and Monicas sex life, and specific acts thereof, are BAD BAD - Blasphmous even! so he better tell all you good Christians out there that this stuff is going on between 2 people so Newt can put a stop to it! (of course it would be a far different matter if women ever were attracted to one of these good Christian guys, then it would be ok, but lets face it Lott, Gingrich and Starr arent exactly hearthrobs now are they) |
