And not to mention the looming Y2K crisis, which will send most ordinary folk to the bank for cash and/or PM's, just in case.
There is an outside chance that Y2K problems could shut down international bank settlements, creating a banking crisis.
In that scenario, your digits on your bank book would mean diddly-sqat, just like in Russia recently.

Whether it happens or not, it will be prudent to have some insurance.......
