Not to be argumentative, as you know that is not my nature, but . . . It is fair to call it a reverse merger in the sense that the acquiring company usually exchanges all of their assets for a majority of the assets of the older "shell" company. In theory this would suggest that even though the shell company is initially smaller, since it exchanges only part of its shares for what you call the acquiring company, it must be larger, no? Because after it is over, it holds all the assets of the acquiring company, plus some shares still held by the old shareholders.
