I don't know about an IPO 'scalp', except that always seems to happen (especially with internet stocks, or to be more precise, any NASDAQ stock). I'd rate Conoco behind Texaco, exxon, chevron, amoco/BP, the usual suspects....... but they are an Oil, or do they do a lot of other stuff like amoco does ? (insulation, etc.) I don't even know if they are 'National' or not...... All i can say is i am buying Oil services sectors like crazy, yes, they probably will dip back down 10-15%, but i also expect them to go back up 200-300% LONG (1-3 years). What is Conoco IPO priced at ? seems to me it will be in the 45-50.00 range, or at least that is where it should be sitting. I also ask myself why DuPont is spinning it off ?? |
