abraves,
Hi!!!

RE:

Dennis,
I am a Systems Integration computer consultant. Our consultant company, which deals with mostly large companies, is seeing the same thing your friend is. Most of the companies that we deal with, are replacing their desktops to deal with Y2K. Some of the companies that are not doing it now, are planning it in 99 for the new NT. Just yesterday I was at a call center where there was over 400 brand new DELLS waiting to be installed. This call center currently has DEC PC's on the desk top. Not any more !! This same company has several hundred more DELLS on order. The only machines that we see companies trying to make Y2K compliant are the high end servers that serve all of the desktop PC's.
This is not the only company that we see doing the same thing. I am not aloud to say the company names because most of the companies we work for, compete with each other.

Nice of you to mention this....if any of the deceitful newcomers to this thread saw the new server facility in Austin they'd shut their mouths...

Best, kemble
