The one thing that scares me about dell is that they ignore that lower end of the pc market. Think about the low end pc's being sold retail today. These boxes are leaps and bounds above what most everyday users need to run their software, and the software being developed isn't requiring these high end pc's to run efficiently. With memory cheap, taking a 233 or 266 or 300 whatever to 128k really boosts spead and thats what the software craves. I am in the software business and companies like my own are working hard on reducing the amount of processing power necessary to run their software to reduce the total cost of implementation. Hardware is low margin, software high with residual support fees. I see the day when companies will be giving hardware away with the software purchase and support contract. Ala cell phones... Still bullish on dell however, just cautious about forward looking statements about the pc market.
