This Weeks Picks:
ZMBA- Zamba Corporation develops software and services for wireless mobile data systems. Its products are intended to focus on extending enterprise information systems to mobile owrkers through the use of company-developed software that provides connectivity from host computer applications across multiple wireless and wireline networks to mobile computers used by a mobile work force. It's primary software product is KeyWare. Keyware is a wireless distributed computing environment that is designed to be interoperable with many customers' existing information systems to provide broad wireless and wireline connectivity and to a llow rapid integration of existing applications. This company has gradually moved in the right direction earnings wise. Although they still do not show a profit as of yet. At the rate they are going it seems certain they will turn a profit by the end of the year. The current price level will allow this stock to increase nicely percentage wise. Current Price 1 7/8.
MDC- M.D.C. Holdings builds single family homes under the names Richmond Homes and Richmond American Homes, with major operations in Colorado, northern Virginia, suburban Maryland, northern California, and with smaller operations in Arizona, Nevada, and southern California. In the homebuilding segment of its operations, M.D.C. acquires finished lots and, to a lesser extent, acquires land and develops it for use in its homebuilding activities. M.D.C. offers wide variety of mortgage loan financing programs through its wholly owned subsidiary, Homer American Mortgage Corporation. Another subsidiary, Financial Asset Management Corporation, manages two publicly traded REITs. MDC received orders for about 600 homes in August an increase of 15% over year-ago figures. Current Price 15.
NCS- NCI Building Systems, Inc. manufacturers metal building systems, roofing systems, and components for commercial, industrial, agrcultural, and community services uses. Metal building systems, its principal products, are used primarily in the construction of low-rise, nonresidential structures. The company works directly with the builder, contractor, or end user to establish job specifications and modifications, determine the appropriate pricing for its products and services, generate drawing, and establish production and delivery schedules. In addition, the company has recently expanded into the market for overhead doors, self-storage buildings, and metal home framing systems and components. NCI Building Systems markets its products nationwide under the trade names "Metallic Buildings", "Midwest Steel Building", "A&S Buildings", and most recently DBCI. Fundamentals for this company is solid and future growth should be steady and increasing. Current Price 19 1/16.
SHX- Shaw Industries, Inc. is the world's largest carpet manufacturer. It makes carpet for home and commercial use under variuos labels, icluding Philadelphia, Cabin Craft, Stratton, Armstrong, Salem, Sutton and Magee. Shaw industries just acquired Queen Carpet in october, this in the long term shall be accreditive to earnings and should shore up its control of the domestic markets. Current Price 15 7/8.
