Ariel: I never did get to Comdex, but from the looks of it nothing ever happened at the AER booth. And speaking of stock prices....

I was looking at the year-end round-up of stock prices in the NYT the other day and noticed the following:

-The Dow, NYSE composite, NASDAQ 100, NASDAQ composite, AMEX, and Russell 2000 were UP an average of 23% for the year.

-Intel, Microsoft, Motorola, HP, US Robotics, and Iomega (all high tech companies with great products) were UP an average of 71%.

-AER, BatTech, Energy Conversion, Electric Fuel, Ultralife, and Valence (all "development stage" companies without products, or with still questionable products) were DOWN and average of 32%.

Enough said on stock prices.

Meanwhile, back at MATSI (http://www.matsi.com) things have been going well. Our latest batteries are delivering 542 Wh/l and 361 Wh/kg, and we may have some OEM tests underway (finally!) this year. I still think we will get to 1,000 Wh/l and 650 Wh/kg before long, even for StarTAC and PCS-sized stuff (which need batteries that are 1/2" thick, 2" wide, 3" long, and weigh 3 ounces or so).

And by forming a strategic alliance with the Duracell division of Gillette, or the Energizer division of Ralston-Purina, or some other billion dollar company, we could put $2-3 million into a sampling program over the next year or two for notebooks, cellphones, camcorders, and a whole bunch of military training gear. Heck, it's already been 9 years and $3 million to get this far! Why not go for it in '97? Know any qualified investors?
