LGS Group Wins $4.3 Million Contract to Provide Computer Security Services to Federal Government

ME SYMBOL: LGS.A OCTOBER 21, 1998 MONTREAL, QUEBEC--LGS Group is pleased to announce that the company has signed a $4.3 million contract with the Department of Public Works and Government Services in Ottawa to provide information technology security services to all federal government departments and organizations. Through its DOMUS Security division, LGS Group will provide the federal government with information technology security services relating to methodologies, as well as threat, risk, and vulnerability assessments. LGS Group will also provide assistance with certification and accreditation for computer systems that process sensitive and classified information. Under the Information Technology Security System Evaluation and Risk Assessment (IERA) vehicle, the Communications Security Establishment in Ottawa will use the DOMUS Security Laboratory to assist them with security product reviews. The DOMUS Security Laboratory is the only Canadian facility, and one of only three in the world, that have been accredited by both the Canadian and United States governments to perform cryptographic module validation testing using the international standard Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Publication (PUB) 140-1. Through the IERA, LGS Group will provide security services for up to five years, in Ottawa as well as in other areas of Canada where federal government clients are located.
