OCTOBER 21, 1998
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--LGS Group is pleased to announce that the
company has signed a $4.3 million contract with the Department of
Public Works and Government Services in Ottawa to provide
information technology security services to all federal government
departments and organizations.
Through its DOMUS Security division, LGS Group will provide the
federal government with information technology security services
relating to methodologies, as well as threat, risk, and
vulnerability assessments. LGS Group will also provide assistance
with certification and accreditation for computer systems that
process sensitive and classified information.
Under the Information Technology Security System Evaluation and
Risk Assessment (IERA) vehicle, the Communications Security
Establishment in Ottawa will use the DOMUS Security Laboratory to
assist them with security product reviews. The DOMUS Security
Laboratory is the only Canadian facility, and one of only three in
the world, that have been accredited by both the Canadian and
United States governments to perform cryptographic module
validation testing using the international standard Federal
Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Publication (PUB) 140-1.
Through the IERA, LGS Group will provide security services for up
to five years, in Ottawa as well as in other areas of Canada where
federal government clients are located.
Commenting on this contract, Raymond Lafontaine, president and CEO
of LGS Group, said that it confirms the company's leadership in
the field of IT security, a few weeks after LGS Group acquired
assets of DOMUS Software, in Ottawa.
LGS Group is one of Canada's largest information technology
consulting firms specializing in management and systems
integration. With annual sales exceeding $134 million in the last
financial year, LGS employs more than 2,000 professionals in 16
offices in Canada and Europe. The company is active in most of
the private and public sectors.
