Enterworks Offers Free Seminar On Building Department of Defense Speed and Agility Through Data Integration
ASHBURN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 1998--Enterworks(SM), Inc., the leading provider of software for enabling the virtual enterprise, today announced the next installment in its free seminar series on creating enterprise speed and agility through data integration. This seminar, created specifically for the Department of Defense and related organizations, will demonstrate how Enterworks' Virtual DB(R) can quickly deliver to government IT professionals a unified and complete view of all their enterprise data. Attendees will learn first-hand how an effective data transformation engine can help DoD organizations prepare faster for conflicts, trim and track inventories better and integrate military medical records. Also featured will be case studies of data integration successes at DISA/GCSS, JTAV and IOC/Army Logistics. The half-day seminar will be held from 8:00 a.m. - Noon, Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Pentagon City, Va.
The free event will focus on Virtual DB(R) 2.3, the most recent version of the leading data integration engine that accesses, integrates, cleanses and models enterprise data. Through familiar Web browsers, users can view transformed information in real time, store it in data marts or warehouses or deliver it to client/server applications. At the core of Virtual DB(R) is a powerful metacatalog that acts as a comprehensive "roadmap" of all enterprise data sources. By consolidating data as business views, Virtual DB(R)'s metacatalog gives companies complete freedom to change the relationships between sets of data without changing the underlying systems.
Keynote speaker Ronald J. Powell, publisher and editorial director of DM Review magazine, will discuss the topic "Data Integration Trends." Building on 20 years' expertise in data warehousing, business and data management, Powell will use multiple examples to illustrate both current practices and future initiatives in data integration.
"The rapidly changing business requirements of the Department of Defense and related organizations demand that government IT professionals find reliable solutions to access and integrate disparate data easily and quickly," said Robert Lewis, president of Enterworks. "Our objective is to deliver real value to seminar attendees, using both real-life case studies and step-by-step "how-to" advice from people who have successfully created the unified view that's critical to the speed and agility of any enterprise."
Registration is available for the seminar through Wednesday, Oct. 28. Interested parties can contact Enterworks at 888/242-8356, or by e-mail at seminar.invite@enterworks.com. An online registration form can also be found on the Enterworks Web site at www.enterworks.com.
