What effect would this have on the number one PI?
Eventually, if it proved successful, some would be able to stop taking drugs.
But, if they could, then HIV would be curable, and more people may take it.

Agouron's cancer drugs may have a reduced market when/if they are approved.

Vaccine may halt spread of cancer
‘Could be significant advance in war on cancer'

DURHAM, N.C., Oct. 19 — In what could be a significant advance in the war against cancer, researchers are reporting early success with a genetically engineered vaccine that activates the patient's own immune system to attack and destroy tumors. The novel strategy not only holds the potential to stop the spread of cancer, but also to guard against the recurrences that ultimately kill, doctors said Monday.
