Josef - A Humble Reply
Humbly report, Jim, what I find hard to believe is that PINC puts out a press release about people being able to find them by using search engines.
Josef,
If PINC had put out a Press Release (PR) that you could find them on a search engine by typing in Planet City, yes I would agree this would be a questionable PR.
But putting out a PR about securing the use of keywords "millennium", "bug", "Y2K", "year 2000", and "compliance" on four major search engines is not a fluff PR, 10 Millions of companies and individuals will be searching for a solution to their Y2K problems during the next year, and chances are you won't find a fix under the Yellow Pages. This problem affects computers, and people who have them will be using a computer and the Internet to search for an answer to their problem.
This is no hypothetical event. A surely as the Sun will rise tomorrow morning, The Y2K problems will begin Jan 1, 2000.
The game of "let's pretend" must end for anyone who expects to be able to cope successfully with the Year 2000 Problem. Your solution begins with a recognition that the clock is ticking. The deadline is set.
These will not be small matters if the banks go down or the railroads go blind or both.
Computers control many aspects of our day-to-day existence in ways we are not even aware of. Besides conventional desktop computers that are easy to identify, microchip technology has become an integral part of most modern machines such as washing machines, air conditioners, mobiles phones and cars.
One of the things we know for certain is that all computer-driven facilities could be affected. From the big corporate computers which process your salary check and calculate your mortgage payments to the microchip that controls the engine of your car, the photocopier in your office and the washing machine in your home all could in some way be affected by the Millennium Bug.
Planet City by securing the use of keywords "millennium", "bug", "Y2K", "year 2000", and "compliance" on four major search engines, is a HUGE Plus for Planet City and it shareholders.
I see it equal to having Planet City as the sole Sponsor of all commercials for the Super Bowl, with Planet City banners on every Sideline Fence and a Planet City Blimp flying high above.
The problem is real, it is going to happen, it affects computers in every town/city the around the world.
By the year 2010 Y2K it should be included in the dictionary found as a definition under the word Procrastination.
Th Y2K problem begins in a little over a year. The world will wake up as the days countdown. By this time next year IMHO Planet City will have a product hotter than a cure for Cancer ( for a short period of time)
Wake up and smell the coffee Josef, the world will over the next year!
My only regret in owning stock in Planet City is they do not have a Y2K solution for Large Mainframe Computers as well, I can live with that.
