PictureTel Names Arthur L. Fatum Chief Financial Officer

ANDOVER, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 1998--PictureTel Corporation (Nasdaq:PCTL), the world leader in visual collaboration, today announced the appointment of Arthur L. Fatum as vice president and chief financial officer. Fatum will join PictureTel in November and report to Bruce R. Bond, PictureTel's chairman and CEO.
Fatum has nearly 25 years of experience in corporate finance. Since 1995 he's been president and managing director of AT&T Capital Europe in London. He was responsible for a $1 billion pan-European leasing business with 250 employees in 14 countries. From 1990 to 1995 he was with Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, most recently as senior vice president - Finance for D&B Information Services. At DBIS Fatum was senior finance officer for a $1.6 billion global information business, with operations in 34 countries and a finance staff of 225.
Fatum began his career in 1974 with General Electric Company and spent 16 years in a number of positions, rising from the company's financial management program to director of GE Capital Corporation's Corporate Finance Group Ltd. in London. He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the State University of New York, Cortland. He also completed financial management and executive development programs at the GE Management Development Institute.
