Whats to say. It seems very obvious why Dell is migrating from NetWare to NT. Purely political. Their revenue and profit is severely determined by how nicely the MSFT God treats them on OEM OS license pricing. They needed to appease the GOD and they felt that sacrificing their own internal TCO savings would be worth staying in MSFT's good-books.

It had nothing to do with the cost of making their current environment Y2K compliant. That would have been much cheaper than their new stated plan of doing a wholesale platform migration!

Not much to say. It was purely political. I guess that is why the industry needs some government action against MSFT to stop having OEMs, ISV, and customers be forced into IT strategies that they would normally not have followed in a non-monoploy oriented environment.

Those are my opinions.
