If we consider sexual orgasm as a certain brand of mystical experience, and sex as being the medium (ala meditation) which enables it, we may share more common conceptual ground, and still address the same broad issue.

I'll modify your analogy, "The parts of sex which are expressible in ordinary language omho comprise the act of leading the horse to water. The object is a drinking horse (orgasm) - and that requires a leap or act (or arguably UNact) by the participant. And I further boldly venture that this ineffable personal component introduces so much diversity into the orgasmic experience (for which the above subjective bridge event is necessary but not sufficient) that any "results" or "conclusions" constitute a signal which does not rise above subjective noise." What do you think?

Sex is no less mysterious than meditation, yet we have techniques which enable the "horse to drink." People's subjective reporting of the experience of "drinking" are broadly similar . . . yada yada . . .the techniques they use "to lead them to water" . . .yada yada . . .

Excuse me, I'm getting thirsty . . .

Rick
