My checking account is with a credit union (Washington School Employee Credit Union), and they have announced web-based account access starting in January. This will include entering payees and making payments through the Web. Account information will be downloadable to Quicken or MS Money.

The charge for bill payment is $3.00 a month for unlimited payments (much cheaper than what I am paying now through MS Money/CheckFree). I have emailed them to ask if CheckFree is involved with their online bill payment system in any way, but I suspect it is a stand-alone system. The description sounds a little like what Wells Fargo was like many years ago when I was using their dial-up online system.

Any comments or ideas?
