<All you have to do is go to a retail store and see how the average consumer buys a computer. They walk in and look at the MEGAHERTZ and the PRICE. Then to make them feel better the real uninformed like to stick to a major name brand....ahhh like HP.>

First of all, you are suggesting that the retail computer market is already becoming a commodity. That's great for AMD now, but what's going to happen once AMD tries to move into other areas besides commodity retail?

And second, what are your "sources" telling you about how AMD is going to market Sharptooth, if customers go by MHz and price alone? After all, even if Sharptooth runs faster than a Pentium II at equivalent clock speeds, it's not going to matter to the customer unless the price was lower. And AMD sure can't undercut Intel if Sharptooth is more expensive to make than the K6-2.
