Mark, I was thinking about that today,I believe ANTC is financing TCI,and I believe ANTC is still using HLIT's externally modulated Yag laser subsystems, and other components from HLIT. ANTC used to account for a good portion of HLIT's sales, before they decided to go it alone. I am wondering if the Spanish deal ANTC signed is using HLIT's products?
Well the GIC announcement is a negative, and they said they finally have access to externally modulated continous Yag laser transmitters like HLIT has been producing or a number of years. I am guessing those are the new transmitters ORTL is producing. The problem with DWDM is the need for EDFA's and splitting of signals. HLIT's new product includes 3 EDFA's in it,a good omen.
They are quiet before earnings, and I am pretty optimistic these numbers will be positive. I think we will see how well they are doing and MetroDWDM is heating up. Well there are about 4-5 major cable competitors and all seem to be gaining access to DWDM technology. THe group as a whole is gaining some strength, ORTL,ANTC,GIC, have been rallying nicely, and SFA and CIEN are starting to form a base. We need a leader to emerge, maybe that leader will be little HLIT?
I am going to listen to the replay of the conference call,
Tim
