Daniel, here's a "new" piece of the email trail I never read. "Microsoft is the de facto client software company," Clark, who's now chairman of Netscape, wrote in a December 1994 e-mail. "We have never planned to compete with you. We have never considered a 'client' to be our business." The evidence could be crucial because it may weaken claims by the government and Netscape that Microsoft threatened in a 1995 meeting to force Clark's company out of the browser market in exchange for certain favors, including an investment by software titan Microsoft. From: cbs.marketwatch.com Seems Netscape asked for some help, Microsoft "offered" perhaps Netcsape may have done a little history re-writing. What's your take on this?
