I am not sure what you are using to obtain trading logs from, but I have level 2 and there were not 800,000 shares traded at the bell. There were about 700,000 shares traded in the last hour. Many of these were sell orders at the bid...Also you have to understand that many of these 700,000 shares were not traded to begin with. many of the trades were counted twice thus making people think the volume and liquidity are much higher that what it really is. Nasdaq trading is pathetic in this tactic. While I am not saying the MM's are not taking advantage of some price rangling, I think the true problem is with us the individual investor. The MM's know that when they see a good run going they accelerant the price when a good supply of orders are coming in and then when the supply starts to dwindle down and the first wave of sell orders come in, they take advantage of our greed and fear factor by plunging the bid on what appears to be a high volume of sell orders , by double and triple printing orders. Unless one has level 2 and not something like a Internet trader, you can not get a true picture of how trades go off and effect the price........Jim
