Heres another from the Internet Telephony Newsletter dated September 11,1998... tmcnet.com Digitcom Reports Success In Long-Distance Gateway Digitcom Corporation, an Internet voice communications technology company, has reported successful field trials of its IntraVoice CO Internet long-distance telephone Gateway, the trials done in conjunction with the St. Petersburg National International Telephone and Electrosvyaz (Rostov region) telephone companies. Digitcom has three Internet/telephone network system installations in Russia which were the focus of the recently completed trials in St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Rostov-on-Don. Digitcom will share in revenue generated by IP network routing of interregional telephone traffic in joint venture with the Russian companies. "This clears the way for the launch of long-distance telephone services using Internet protocol networks between Russia's largest commercial centers," said Digitcom CEO Jimmy Chin.
