AG1766 from their web site... Third Generation Protease Inhibitor Agouron has acquired rights to develop and commercialize a novel HIV protease inhibitor (AG1776) discovered by Japan Energy Corporation, Tokyo, Japan. Data from preclinical trials presented at the 12th World AIDS conference in Geneva by Japan Energy demonstrate significant in vitro potency and an encouraging cross-resistance profile. Agouron plans to initiate clinical studies later in 1999.
