Diorgeron, Judging from the size of the two companies involved, and the breadth of their products, I feel that QCOM has more to lose in this unfortunate battle.
Meanwhile, Ericsson and others have prepared interim GSM Edge Enhanced products as a stepping stone to some 3rd Generation System. career.ericsson.nl http://talk,techstocks.com/~wsapi/investor/reply-6097141
Ericsson has, and will lose some ground in the handset (consumer) business, to Nokia. I feel that this is close to being a non-issue. I expect that these companies will continually swap leadership status, in this area, as time goes on.
Meanwhile, GSM systems are being installed, apparently because they are relatively cheap; and they work.
Ericsson continues with it's "string of Pearls" aquisition strategy. Contracts are being won in the ADSL area as well.
If Ericsson really needs a CDMA handset product, I would expect them to reach out and purchase another pearl. A CDMA manufacturer, in this case.
I still think that Ericsson is a bargain at these prices.

Good luck to all ERICY & QCOM investors.
