<<Jim mentioned that Motorola can help with capacity, but I'm still wondering why Motorola would want to if it means AMD will take market share away from Apple's iMac. IBM could also help, but AMD already gave them the boot earlier this year. What do you think, Max?>>

The demand of Apple G3 is only a few hundred thousands per quarter.
This is only 1 week capacity for MOS13 of Motorola. Thus there is
plenty of capacity to make other chips. I am sure MOT would love to
make chips for AMD. K7 would probably be the first chip to be
manufactured at MOT. IBM is not so good because their yield is not
so good compared to MOT.

<<AMD has established a name for themselves by selling CPU's for
$100 and helping to create the current sub-$1000 craze. Because of this, they seem to be unwilling to sacrifice that in order to move on to higher margins.>>

They will as soon as they get good distribution in the 450MHz and
beyond.

<<AMD wouldn't dare sell a K6-3 that runs under 400 MHz>>

Anything under 400MHz would go into a notebook. Nice strategy isn't
it?

Nevertheless I think AMD EPS for Q4 will be really nice. I am projecting exceeding $0.20. They seem to get their house in order.
K6-3 will be shipped late in Q4.
