Time to Reminisce....
I remember a thread on SI. In fact the one that drew me to SI in the first place. It was the DELL thread. It was used to rationally discuss DELL's business model, DELL's problems and chances, DELL's probable price reaction to potential market moves.
The DELL thread was a good thread. It was home to some very knowledgeable, logical, and thoughtful posters, and it was a very valuable thread. I like to think it was known for its civility, tolerance, and temperance of tone, not merely for the quality of its discussion and posts.
I came to read today and found that someone has replaced it with the Yahoo DELL thread; turned it into a pit for cheerleading, namecalling, vituperation, and worse. If this thread is in any way an accurate reflection of the company, then it is time to sell.
I miss the thread we used to know. So please clean up your acts, folks. If your argument is incisive, there is no need for name-calling; if you have nothing to say, say it elsewhere; if you must be ugly, do it in private -- why let the entire world know what a stupid jerk you are?
Don't do these things for me. Do them for yourselves! This thread WAS, and can become again, a valuable investment tool. Everyone needs to help "police" the thread to keep it viable.
