In the interests of comity perhaps you could explain to this history-challenged person how and why the international Left supported Hitler's actions until Hitler turned on Stalin.

The Left followed Soviet foreign policy and part of that was to excoriate FDR as a "warmonger" when he tried to build support against Hitler and for aiding GB.

Of course that all changed when Hitler turned on Russia - then the Left screamed that FDR was never doing enough to help the Allies and especially Stalin.

If I recall correctly, that was even played out in The Way We Were. Perhaps the "cheers" man can understand it on that level.
