Here are our opinions/timelines on Nortran's current activities (in reverse order from our previous post):

1. HR: hiring of new VP of Business Development.
Filling this position with the right person will be important to Nortran's long term success. We are hoping the person that Nortran hires has held a senior position with a major pharmaceutical co. (Maybe this is wishful thinking).
The person that we are wishing for would add to an already strong management team.
Timeline: 3 months.

2. Local anaesthetic: Phase II trial completed - independent investigator preparing analysis of data for final report.
We should see positive results soon.
Timeline: 3 months.

3. Licensing/collaborations: Nortran preparing for visit by another large pharmaceutical company.
We suspect a deal will be done with a large European pharmaceutical company, because Nortran's management team has spent lots of its time in Europe in the last couple of months. There are remarks on Nortran's web site that confirm our conclusion.
Timeline: 6 months.

4. Hoffmann La Roche: Nortran synthesizing 25g quantities of two AFA compounds for Roche.
This is the BIG ONE. Results to date have gone exceptionally well!
Timeline: 6 months.

Our group in Alberta continues to accumulate at these boxing day sale prices.
We continue to agree with the recent analysts' reports that Nortran will hit $4 in 1999.

Short term pain, long term gain!
