Brian - It looks like the Bottom is falling out on AMD K6-2 350 MHz pricing.

Pricewatch now lists the 350 MHz K6-2 at $135 - a MAJOR DROP in just a few days and almost a $200 DROP from the Introducton price of $317 in mid-August.

The 333 MHz K6-2 is now BELOW $100

For reference, the 333 MHz Celeron A is priced ABOVE the 350 MHz K6-2 - at $157. Intel's 300 MHz Celeron A is selling for $135 - about the same price as AMD's 350 MHz part.

Doesn't it look like AMD has to discount their HIGHEST END CPU well BELOW Intel's Celeron ?

Looks like AMD is trying to hold on to their market share at any cost - and from AMD's stock price, it looks like shareholders are bearing the BRUNT of these cost reductions !

AMD's ASPs are not going to look too good this quarter, I'm afraid.

Paul
