Hi Spots

Excellent directions, however the "explore" and "open" options are still grayed out when right clicking Start.

Everything went smooth with the import; when I right click on any other folder, I get "explore" and "open", and they work without generating a nasty message.

One of those registry tweaks I made, before this happened, ( anyway I think it was before )removed the "log off" prompt from the Start menu.

I got the tip from ZD Net:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Choose Edit, New, Binary Value. Name the new entry NoLogOff. Press Enter and set it to the following value: 01 00 00 00

After I discovered the "explore" loss, I went back and deleted the entry and got the "log off" prompt back.

I also deleted the short cut arrows from the registry however, I didn't try to bring those back, I'm pretty sure (?) that "explore" worked after removing the arrows.

I did back up the registry using the Cfgback utility that was on the Win 95 CD before I tried any tweaking. Would that be a possible solution ?

I want to say thanks for your help, I've learned quite a bit more about the registry, folders and Win 95 and that's a really good thing.

Thanks
Lou
