Thread: I have a pretty good feeling that somebody (probably Dell or Compaq - my money is on Compaq) will annouce a PC/Server with RDRAM this year. Keep in mind modules are ready in small volume and there surely is a race behind the scenes to take the lead and be the first to market. We might very well see demand exceed supply first half of 99 for RDRAM - which in turn should drive prices higher. Keep in mind that Rambus makes royalty based upon sales price from manufacturer so even though supply might be slightly lower the price increase could easily take in this slack as far as Rambus' earnings are concerned.

Trading range for the rest of the year I see between 55-75 maybe with a peak to 80. Next year will be a different story - sort of like when Yahoo went from loosing money to making money (no other comparisons as Rambus is way more solid in my view). I would like to see a split annouced with earnings for Q1-99 - would eliminate some of the fluctations based on mm's manipulations (would also make a lot of traders stop trading and go long).
