Like cash, DigiCash is also anonymous. There is only one instance in which the spender can be identified, and that is if the same piece of digital cash is spent twice. Since it's all bits and bytes, copying cash is as easy as cut-and-paste.

However, both the recipients of the double-spent cash and the issuing bank have to cooperate to identify the double-spender.
