Engineer - But with IS-95HDR, you can do ADSL with the WLL phone. 600-800k in, 250-300k out. This is the new data service they demonstrated at PCS98 last month...

I wasn't denying that WLL could do 1Mbps. I was saying that if the wirelines which are already laid can do it, then it may be cheaper than having to install an entirely new system like WLL. (OTOH The baby Bells are having to install a bunch of new equipment to get ADSL to work, and it is possible that that costs even more than installing WLL. I just don't know yet, and I suspect no one else does yet either.)

As for the more general question of installing 3g WLL in the US, the main problem is going to be lack of available spectrum. Does anyone know what the plans are in this regard?

Thanks for all the info.

Clark
