Ray, here is a comment by Nortel from the Broadcom/Nortel Press release of Aug 22/96 that pretty much sums up their position with respect to Amati and ADSL:

Gary Bolton, senior manager of product management for residential broadband networks for Nortel, says his company still has a relationship with Amati but adds that "initial products will be based on Broadcom design until DMT offers a competitive advantage."
