Breakthrough Web-base knowledge management application offers

pre-release version for evaluation purposes at

LawTrack works with either the Netscape Navigator or Microsoft
Internet Explorer Web browser to provide nearly all Internet users
in the legal profession the capability to gather, annotate,
present, view and publish hard copies of Web-based research data
electronically. LawTrack's self-contained research presentations
can be provided to end users of the information via e-mail or by
diskette for viewing using a browser, even without the LawTrack
application installed.

Easy to install to begin generating powerful research results.
LawTrack installs easily and gets users researching quickly by
automatically locating and configuring a user's default
Web-browser and Internet connection during installation. LawTrack
users won't need to keep a bulky manual on hand since the product
includes online user documentation and help system.
Faster browsing on-line or off-line. LawTrack includes PeakSoft's
award-winning Java-based Web acceleration capabilities, which can
significantly improve browsing speeds. LawTrack uses acceleration
agents to "look-ahead" and pre-load links, and creates its own
intelligent cache so users can access them quickly. Users can
more thoroughly review the gathered information offline, which
saves online access and expensive proprietary research fees.
Accurate tracking of Web research activity. LawTrack's PageTracer
provides a complete history of each browsing session, which allows
legal professionals to maintain accurate records of time spent on
Internet research on behalf of a particular client. Users can also
quickly retrieve a list of important Web page address listings
from past searches for faster access to a particular site. These
lists can be edited by deleting, reordering and annotating every
citation in each browsing session's history.
Managing and organizing research results. LawTrack features a
built-in PageFolio system, which lets users more intuitively
organize the content results of Web searches. Users can build a
topical filing system to organize and archive pages to call up
past work more quickly and easily. LawTrack includes a number of
PageFolios already filled with important sites and resources as a
starting point to assist researchers in beginning to assemble
their own.
Sharing Web research briefs. LawTrack users can share their Web
research data with others using the product's PagePresenter
technology. It enables users to create slide shows of pages they
have gathered, add comments, and share with others. While viewing
the pre-selected Web pages, recipients can choose to visit a
particular Web site by simply clicking a button to activate a live
browsing session.
Pricing and Availability
Currently LawTrack is available for a 90-day evaluation by
registering at the LawTrack Web site at lawtrack.peak.com
to receive either an installation CD-ROM by mail, or an immediate
download from the Web site. Pricing has not yet been established
for LawTrack, which is scheduled for final release in Q1 1999.
