Re Schroeder etc... they decided for a policy of small (if any...) steps, which include a) cutting interest tax benefit from 6000 to 3000 b) extending the tax-free speculation gains period from 6 mo to 1 year (both expected right). Encouraging they (yet) dont intend to pump up the deficit (even if they tried) so it is projected at 1.2% GNP in two years. Still there's commentaries like "Did we have to get Waigel out to get THIS?!"

Lafontaine ... well ... he wants himself (and Germany after all) heard a little better this time around. Compared with the experience of people like Waigel and Bangemann (his name is JUST hillarious). To be on equal terms with Rubin and the likes, he has to cut up the ministries the way he intends to - of course it looks nasty.

Now the next person to get slaughtered I guess is the good ol' Johannes Rau. Heidi for president!

DAX turned back today, the resistance is rather strong. Any news on GTW?
