This is specifically why the doctor performing a "partial birth" abortion must terminate the baby before it is fully outside the woman's body, otherwise, he or she would have killed a person. Having said that, as the law is currently interpreted, I still don't think it is my place to tell a woman that she cannot make that decision - the non-legal penalty is her's to deal with.

I do see some hope on the horizon, though. In the form of what is known around the street as "the shot," which is an easy to get contraceptive and works for a fairly long period of time.

Maybe reproductive prevention technology will allow us to put abortion back into the world of barbarism where it so richly belongs.
