The left has been intolerant as well as the right. The political correctness movement, the global warming issue, the socialized health care issue, racial issues, and myriad other issues where dissent is not allowed by the left. Their goal is to impose their world view on everyone. Their excuse as was with the Communists was that their bankrupt programs won't work unless they become universal. Except that most of their programs started out with themselves being exempt from paying into the systems.
