For what it's worth, I found the Financial World article about shorting Oakley. It was in the December 16th issue. They quote Doug Kass of Kass Perkins Partners. There are only two paragraphs devoted to Oakley and the article was written when the stock price was 15 7/8.

Mr. Kass thought Oakley was a short because the Oakley market cap at 1.1 Billion was almost as large as the total annual sales for the worldwide premium market. He also said that the street projection of 25% compounded revenue growth for 96 and 97 would be hard to attain because to do so would require Oakley to double its market share. He said it was going to be tough to do that with Nike and BOL buying cos. like Arnette. His target price for Oakley was $8.
