Yes - I do think that.

Are you naive enough to think that MSFT would not love to have this announcement placed on their web-site for all to see? Dell is not just some lowly little unheardof company. They are now account for the largest marketshare of PC sales. This makes this story high-profile for MSFT.

Dell get something from MSFT which we likley wont ever learn what it was.

So I stick to my opinion that Dell did this to appease the MSFT God.
